My research sits at the boundary between AI systems and the real world. I am interested in the hard problems that surface when you try to make intelligent systems work at scale: in finance, in scientific discovery, in infrastructure that millions of people depend on.
The questions that drive my work: - AI-augmented discovery: can we build systems where AI generates hypotheses and humans direct the search? What does the new scientific loop look like? - The economics of small teams: how does AI change the minimum viable organization? What can three people with the right tools actually accomplish? - Financial infrastructure: digital currencies, payment systems, and the intersection of AI with markets and monetary policy - Adversarial robustness: how do we build systems that hold up when things go wrong?
